Suspension gong ceremony

Following the outbreak of the corona virus, the Amsterdam exchange has decided to temporarily suspend the daily gong ceremony. The company also closes its doors to visitors. Trading however continues, resulting in unprecedented activity levels and major slumps, especially at the start of the crisis.

Update: During 2020 and 2021, prices gradually recovered. In the second half of 2021, the gong ceremony was also gradually restarted, but unlike before, it now no longer takes place daily, but about two to three times a week. The AEX-Experience, the visitor centre at the Amsterdam Exchange, which was also forced to close its doors due to COVID in 2020, has not reopened yet.
